Quote to Consider
"Excessive intervention in economic activity and blind faith in the state's omnipotence is another possible mistake... Instead of streamlining market mechanisms, some are tempted to expand state economic intervention to the greatest possible extent...
In the 20th century, the Soviet Union made the state's role absolute. In the long run, this made the Soviet economy totally uncompetitive. This lesson cost us dearly. I am sure nobody wants to see it repeated...There is no reason to believe that we can achieve better results by shifting responsibility onto the state...
And one more point: anti-crisis measures should not escalate into financial populism and a refusal to implement responsible macroeconomic policies. The unjustified swelling of the budgetary deficit and the accumulation of public debts are just as destructive as adventurous stock-jobbing."

As for sea level rise I find it hard to believe that a 3mm rise over the entire planet could be accurately measured. Heck the daily tides are a foot or two depending on the moon. A 3.2 mm rise per year means that 30 yrs from now sea level will have risen the length of a cigarette. All this is based on an assumtion that everything will remain the same over time. By the way Flan why do you always post graphs with no proof of where they came from. Did you make the graphs or were they somebodys science project? I think you are starting to see the truth and are embarrassed to admit it. You are reduced to trying to discredit Buzz Aldrin by saying he saw ufo's. Does saying he couldnt identify a flying object make him a loon? I could say the same for you Flan. A man who claims to have had several papers published but wants to keep them private. OOOOOOKAAAAAYYY Hey Im starring in a new movie but it wont be shown anywhere because i want to keep it private. Houston we have a problem.
Denny

ron, ok thanks, I hope you wasn't talking to me..That year was the year before I graduated from High School. I'll never forget that day as long as I live. I always kept up on everything Nasa did in the 50's and 60's. I've got three scrapbooks full of clippings on nothing but the Space program and UFO's.
SFM

Amen Ron I live in Louisiana and we got our first rain in a month today. It has been in the high 90's and low 100's for the whole month of June. Our weather is usually dominated by a south wind bringing moisture from the Gulf. Normally by noon clouds are forming and keep the temp down. This year the wind was from northwest or west causing cloudless days for almost the entire month. We used to complain about the afternoon showers but not any more. Ill take them any day over non stop sun.
ron
06 Jul : 19:41
Just to give you the power of clouds. We can't even register what warming CO2 brings. In fact, there is no thermometer than can differentiate between natural cycles and any human forcing. However, thanks to some recent rain and cloud cover, it was 27 degrees F cooler than it had been. It had been over 100 F and yesterday never got over 79. Today was only 82 F, for July, in Texas. That's what clouds can do. That's why water vapor is the real greenhouse gas, but it operates in negative feedback. While things were more humid, the temp was cooler, and the clouds reflected sunlight back into space. Plus the northern air behind the cool front. Basic physics, which is beyond the understanding of the AGW faithful.
ron
06 Jul : 19:36
Denny wrote:"ron, who is too young to remember??? "
I was thinking Flanagan might be too young to remember. I was born March 19. 1964. So, I'm old enough to remember.
I think Aldrin was punching out a reporter who was giving him grief primarily because Aldrin does denies the AGW theory and scare tactics. Aldrin, old school, God bless him.
Denny
06 Jul : 19:31
And the Alarmists want to slap Us with Billions in taxes just because these Models say so! This is entirely unresponsible and heads should roll on this! Besides, this is what Climate Audit has been showing all along. Nothing new!
Denny
06 Jul : 19:26
Wow, read this from WUWT! "Quote of the Week"!
More proof in the pudding, so they say!
Denny
06 Jul : 10:47
ron, who is too young to remember???
Denny
06 Jul : 10:46
Yep, We REALLY trust what RealClimate has to say here, Flanni. Please don't post that Crap here!
Denny
06 Jul : 10:45
Flanni, what the?? mm?? Millimeters? OMG, a VERY small amount! Not in my life time do I have to worry! Typical scare tactics!
ron
06 Jul : 05:22
There you go, Flan, Pielke's response to the stuff put out by "realiclimate."
ron
06 Jul : 05:17
Buzz Aldrin was the second man to walk on the moon but you might be too young to remember that.
Flanagan
06 Jul : 02:40
Buzz Aldrin.. Isn't that the guy who also saw several UFOs? Why isn't he seeing then the sea level rise
and the faster-than-expected melting of the Arctic?
Denny
05 Jul : 22:34
ron, thanks! Wow, Buzz "Boom Boom" Aldrin has a nice right hook! The guy deserved that one! As far as burning wood, I have a wood addon to my system. It works great. My brother and I own the woods I live in and we agree to cut dead trees first before cutting anything green. Last year I sold ten trees for money I needed to keep going. So now I have ten tops to get cut up! I was just thinking about starting making wood in case I stay here for the Winter. I have propane for backup or for 30 plus days...I was raised on wood heat. It's the best heat there is, bone warming! Disavantage is that it is very dry. I run a humidifier all the time! It really helps!
ron
05 Jul : 21:16
SFM, that's what I've been saying. If the sociobamalists succed in taxing electricity out of the reach of most people, they will return to burning wood, which will still release CO2 and CO and increase deforestation or at least place a monstrous demand on the forest industry, which makes it harder to keep CO2 absorbing plants around. If only we had a president who had a clue. But, gee, he gives great speeches. I was going to blame it on the people who voted for him but the media fell down on the job and they should be made to walk the plank.
ron
05 Jul : 21:13
For you, Denny. Buzz "Boom Boom" Aldrin with a great right hook.
SFM
05 Jul : 21:12
Den I have electric heat that i refuse to use in the winter. I have two cords of oak split and drying as we speak. It will probably emit 10 times the co2 if not more than using my heater. Great plan greenies. Never consider the unintended consequences. The hallmark of big government.
Denny
05 Jul : 20:30
ron, could you post that Video about Buzz Aldrin decking the reporter! I would like to see that!
Denny
05 Jul : 20:29
SFM, thanks for the kind words. I hope that there's one to get. I thought the late 70's were bad! That would work if EVERYONE refused to pay! I am already seriously thinking about dropping my Electric if this Cap and Trade goes thru...Do like the Amish do! They do alot without technology!
SFM
05 Jul : 19:41
Denny Very nice links. Very true. Sorry to hear about your job. Our only hope is to transfer all the outrage to the voting booths in 2010. Thats if the country hasnt been destroyed by then. Thats why they are in such a big hurry to ram every thing through. Maybe we should send our tax returns in without reading them or pay our electric bills without reading them. Just pay a dollar and claim we took the president at his word.
ron
05 Jul : 17:08
I just saw the video of Buzz Aldrin punching out a soi-disant "reporter" who accused him of lying about walking on the moon and called him a thief. And Aldrin is a good 40 years older than the snotnose who mouthed off to him. Hooraw!
ron
05 Jul : 17:00
Bush will be remembered as a good president who helped us through 9-11 and rode a wild horse called Wall Street until it settled down. McCain should be remembered for his senate floor speach on Sallie Mae back in 2006 (it's in the congressional record) where he warned that the GSE needed better oversight. Obama will be remembered as the president who raised our debt to equal the world's GNP. To fight a problem that doesn't exist, except in the fantasies of disenfranchised socialists who wish to return to the horse and buggy era.
ron
05 Jul : 16:57
Bush's problem was that he didn't know enough about science, so he bought into the need to curb CO2. It's a weakness of his to falter on domestic policy. He was a gearjammer on foreign policy and true crisis management. I am so thankful Gore was not president during 9-11. Bush is from Texas, where we kick butt and take names. So, he was good at kicking butt and not so good on the finer points such as economy. Being republican doesn't mean you always know what to do with the economy.
ron

And, it's possible that Obama and his crew don't actually buy into the AGW but find that it serves as a handy vehicle to create a more socialist state. After all, Obama was once a member of the Illinois Socialist Party. That's a documented fact that can't be denied. Why else would someone want to spend so much money on a non-problem? So they can have the money for what they really want.

I can only hope that patriots every where can take to heart the words of the video letter. Obama may or may not respond but the voters can. We don't even have to wait for an election year. We can impeach whomever we choose. But it does take a groundswell movement of concerned citizens. Seriously, if the politicians thought they might be removed from office, they might pay attention.

Reviewing Climate Change and Cap and Trade Programs to Insure Investor Protection
We all know that the artificial construct known as "cap and trade" is nothing more than a fraud to get companies to pay more taxes. It will have very little, to no, impact on CO2 levels, much less global warming.

Some Limitations of the Peer Review Process and Its Effect on the AGW Issue - by Leonard Weinstein, ScD
Most everyone knows the classic definition of peer review, "the process of subjecting an author's scholarly work, research or ideas to the scrutiny of others who are experts in the same field". But do you know how the process actually works? Dr. Weinstein does; he has been on both ends of the process.

The Truth About Arctic and Greenland Ice - by Leonard Weinstein, ScD
In this paper, former NASA Senior Research Scientist Leonard Weinstein, ScD uses the melting of Arctic and Greenlandish ice to show how CO2 can not cause catastrophic melting in the future. In fact, both areas are well within the norm of natural variation.

Debunking the CO2 Feedback Myth - by Leonard Weinstein, ScD
The climate models used in the IPCC reports have made predictions of increases in global temperature of 2ºC to 6ºC over present levels by 2100. These predictions were based on assumptions regarding future CO2 levels and that water vapor would provide a large positive feedback effect. Dr. Weinstein (former NASA Senior Research Scientist) shows how both of these assumptions are either wrong or greatly exaggerated.

Dr. Leonard Weinstin (former NASA Senior Research Scientist) Shows How AGW Is Not A Problem
Dr. Leonard Weinstein worked 45 years at the NASA Langley Research Center, finishing his career there as a Senior Research Scientist. Dr. Weinstein is presently a Senior Research Fellow at the National Institute of Aerospace. He is now a critic of the anthropogenic theory of global warming. His analysis shows that man has contributed less than 0.30C of warming and by the year 2100 may contribute less than 0.40C additional warming. This is much less than what the United Nations IPCC has predicted and of course a small fraction of what alarmists such as Al Gore and James Hansen have predicted.

Will the Obama Administration Trigger an Ice Age?
President Obama's new Science Advisor is in favor of intentionally altering the oceans and the atmosphere in order to lower Earth's fever. This is an extremely dangerous move with a likely result of pushing us in to a disastrous ice age!

Antarctic Sea Ice Up Over 43% Since 1980, Where Is The Media?
Sea ice at Antarctica is up over 43% since 1980 and we hear nothing in the news, yet Arctic ice is down less than 7% and they're all over it! We've been waiting for the main stream media to pick up on the increase of Antarctic ice but so far they're been totally absent. Guess its doesn't fit the plan.

U.N. Plans To Cut Western Countries Down To Size
Cut us down to what "size" and what does this have to do with Global Warming? The UN is about to propose sweeping international changes that will redistribute the wealth from Western countries to poorer one's. By December 2009 the United Nations hopes to have massive new taxes imposed on all industrial countries as well as moving major segments of industry from the rich countries to the poorer one's. All in the name of "fixing" global warming.

George Will Is Correct On Global Sea Ice, It Is Higher Today Than Almost 3 Decades Ago
The left believes they've caught one of their arch enemies in a gross factual mistake. Nationally syndicated columnist George Will recently wrote that global sea ice was at the exact same levels as it was in 1979. The left went bonkers believing him to be incorrect. Was he?
