ron I've been repeating, except for maybe the last few posts, about the work of Prof. Lindzen of MIT. But either you don't know that one or you choose to ignore it, for your political or religious reasons. By the way, name-calling and ad hominem attacks don't count as scientific evidence and you still have not proved CO2 AGW and you still have not disproven our statements. It just happens to be science, hillbilly or not. My family comes from hillbillies, by the way. So, you may be right in my regard.

Some it's basic science, like you should have learned in school. I know that's not fair of me. When I went to school, science was taught by science teachers, not politicians.

I did not find anything by him that claims CO2 is causing glaciers to melt. He does talk about warming, lack of snowfall and ENSO impact. Most of the ice loss is caused by lack of snowfall which is due to deforestation and not CO2 from what I've read in peer reviewed articles. BTW I am coming at this from one who started as a true AGW believer at one time and one who has a carbon footprint of 3 tonnes per year. Once I brushed up on my physics and started reading and doing my own calculations on CO2, I began to question the theory.

If carbon dioxide had been the cause then the warmest years would have understandably been in the most recent years. But that is not the case. The largest differences in the satellite temperature data were not from any man-made activity, but from natural phenomena such as large volcanic eruptions from Mt. Pinatubo, and from El Niño. The behavior of the atmosphere is extremely complex. Therefore, discovering the validity of global warming is complex as well. How much effect will the increase in carbon dioxide will have is unclear or even if we recognize the effects of any increase.

Anonymous yes, co2 alone is not the only source of warming. the earth is a complex system. There are other greenhouse gases, warming related to deforestation, ice melt from glaciers & the poles and urban sprawl.
