If you are reading the Climategate 2.0 emails you may have seen where your exact concern was also a concern for the climate scientists. In their emails they admit that they have no explanation for early 20th Century warming as CO2 was not the cause. Have you noticed a shift in climate speak? At the latest climate summit in Rio this week they are avoiding the use of the term "climate change" and only speaking of "sustainable development". It's come to the point where the UN serves as a marketing entity for the climate industry and only science that supports the industry is highlighted. Money has corrupted the science process and my prediction is that scientists will end up in court testifying under oath and under cross-examination. If you read the "most recommended" comments at the link in my prior comment, you will see people have had it with being taxed for climate. From 1948 to 1980, OLR increased by roughly 6.5 Watts/m**2. Then from 1980 to present, basically the same time frame of 32 years, it only increased roughly 1.0 Watts/m**2. Shouldn't OLR be rising as more energy is returned to Earth by increased CO2? Why has CO2 risen in a steady and accelerating rate over this time period but OLR seems to be doing the opposite and decelerating? Based on existing positive feedback models shouldn't rising CO2 increase the energy re-radiated back towards the Earth's surface and cause a steady increase in OLR?
