WCK    [06/01 13:49]
Another predicted behavior of the global warming theory has been dealt a serious blow by satellite evidence. Stratospheric cooling was assumed to be part of the reduced radiative transfer from the Troposphere caused by the increase of GHGs which trapped that heat from entering the Stratosphere. New evidence from satellites shows this not to be what is happening but instead it is cloud formation that is responsible for the cooling. Tropospheric Hot Spot that was predicted by the models never materialized if clouds are responsible for cooling rather than reduced heat due to GHGs the models become even more problematic than they already are. I can't imagine that scientists will be willing to accept the inherent problems with models and their continued divergence from measured data much longer.

WCK    [05/29 19:29]
What timing! No sooner do we learn that no scientists had received any death threats from deniers/skeptics, we also learn that an eco-extremist group actually shot a scientist and like Ted Kaczynski, sent out mail bombs with demands.

WCK    [05/29 07:09]
"For the record, there were no alleged death threats except when journalists picked up the story." - Professor Ian Chubb Vice-Chancellor of the Australian National University (2010)

An investigation into claims that Australian scientists received death threats in 2010 reveals that there were no death threats and that it was the press/media that pushed the death threat lie. This lie was then used as propaganda to attack those that were opposed to the carbon tax in Australia.

WCK    [05/24 02:20]
So who took the initiative to move the USA to unconventional energy development? "It was Republican President Gerald Ford who began a concerted federal effort to seek "unconventional" natural gas in response to shortages. "The DOE's [1976] Eastern Gas Shales Project [in the Appalachia basin] determined there was a hell of a lot of gas in shales," Mitchell Energy in Texas developed the technology with funding from the DOE.

The citizens in my town recently agreed to an energy deal that would supply electricity at 4.6 cents/kWh. Dane citizens are paying 40 cents and German citizens pay 32 cents for their not so green energy which hasn't done much to lower GHG emissions because of the poor capacity factors in wind and solar which required that they keep old coal plants as a backup to meet grid demand.

WCK    [05/24 01:57]
"According to the International Energy Agency, U.S. energy-related emissions of carbon dioxide, the main greenhouse gas, fell by 450m tons over the past five years – the largest drop among all countries surveyed." "For the first time in recent history, coal's share of electricity generation (in the USA) fell to below 40% in November and December of last year, and it's fallen even further to around 37% in the first two months of this year."

This means that the USA has cut CO2 emissions more than any of those morons that signed Kyoto and then dispareged the USA for not signing. Hey Gore, Markey, Waxman, Boxer, Pelosi and Reid, we did it without your economy killing cap and trade scam. ROTFLMAO

WCK    [05/21 16:19]
Russian science academy reverses stance on global warming. China climate scientists also have produced several climate studies that find current warming nothing unusual.

"Global warming is coming to an end: In the coming years the temperature over the entire planet will fall and the cooling will provide a character of relief. This is the conclusion reached by Russian scientists from the Physics University of the Russian Academy of Science."

WCK    [05/21 07:42]
Copenhagen Consensus 2012 scientists have finished their meeting and one of the interesting finds was that, " For the money it takes to save one life with carbon cuts, smarter policies could save 78,000 lives."

I'm betting that we will see a large faction of green fanatics that will deny these scientific findings and actually find such human loss of life and waste of money acceptable in order to cling to their green religion that CO2 is the most threatening thing to the planet.

Levitus out with new data that CONFIRMS that the missing heat is missing. Ocean heat content measured from 0-2000 meters from 1955-2010 only rose .09 degC which is 3 times less than climate models predicted based on current model sensitivity assumptions. This, as Trenberth stated once before about the missing heat, is a "travesty". It will be interesting how the alarmists and activist scientists spin this news.

A theory unsupported by data can't be accepted in science.

Uhmm global warming is fake! YEAH.

StopSmokingPot    [05/10 11:32]
Ha! The apocalypse is upon us as the unveiling of the truth about GHG and AGW comes crashing down before all our eyes.
We will see more of this as FOIA laws let others have access to information that has been held back by the anointed ones.
The human genome project will be next, sorry you can't convince me that I'm 98.9 percent monkey.

Hey, you can bet on the monthly and yearly global temperature anomalies at Intrade!

WCK    [05/03 10:40]
The pursuit of intermittent, unreliable and extremely expensive energy continues and pushes more families into energy poverty. In Germany there are now 600,000 households are without power thus living the German green dream.

WCK    [05/03 10:33]
Booyah! Great News!!!!! All the peak energy fears and myths just went up in smoke. We now have successfully extracted Methane Hydrates from ice lattices in the Earth. The amount of energy available from MHs is 3 times more than all the oil and gas reserves for the entire world and will provide a thousand years of energy to the USA if needed. So much for fears of reliance on unstable regimes for energy. The USA has all the cheap cheap energy we need for future generations and now all we need is a president who is capable of putting together the necessary energy policy to create the pathway for doing so.

ron    [04/29 10:46]
typo alert, I meant to say that analysis shows that Obamacare will cost more than initially predicted. Sorry about the typo, not sorry about the CBO report.

ron    [04/29 10:44]
But I digress. Socialism has been trying to determine and decide what it is that science finds. And as we can see, science, real science is whooping its butt. Science doesn\'t care what religion you believe, your political party, whatever. It simply is what it is.

ron    [04/29 10:42]
I know of a singer in the UK who cannot afford the right care to fix his voice problem. The private care costs more and he cannot afford it because so much of his money is taken in taxes to pay for NHS, which will not fix his ailment. Problem is, voice ailments often coincide with digestive and food intake problems. Not to mention the waiting time, the govt\'s idea of triage.

ron    [04/29 10:40]
Yet our govt is doing just that with Obamacare, which will not cost more than the initial predictions. Both in cost of care and premium costs to participants, i.e., you and I. Because it cannot and will not work. And people that would normally not go to the hospital or doctor for a cold will do so. Why not? It\'s paid for, right? Which takes away resources and time from the people in dire need.

ron    [04/29 10:38]
I recently read an opinion that the austerity measures are \"not working\" for the euro crisis. Well, that\'s because socialists are incapable of cutting spending. They cannot and will not maintain a budget because it violates their faith. Such as Greece, who insists that govt employees should receive lifetime retirement at an early age. And if they pass on, the retirement stipend is transferrable to the family, who could live another 50 years, essentially, paying a stipend forever while GDP decreases through economy fluctuations, free market competition. The govt should not force you to pay a premium price.

ron    [04/29 10:33]
Faith that totally disregards basic math and science. Socialism is the belief that you can get 8 oz of water from a 6 oz glass.

ron    [04/29 10:32]
Point in fact, the faith that CO2 is causing global warming. Faith that wealth should be redistributed. Faith that everything a person has worked for is the property of someone else. Faith that the govt should provide to you your success, your healthcare, your education, your house (GSA\'s Freddie Mac and Sallie Mae) by literally forcing by govt fiat that banks be required to write and bundle sub-prime mortgages or lose their FDIC coverage and link to the Fed Reserve.

ron    [04/29 10:29]
It is, in fact, the point of politics to drive policy by ideals, fiat or beneficial. And socialism is a faith. It is faith rooted in another faith, fascism. Fascism not, in and of itself, the actions of Hitler. It is faith that the government could, would, and should take care of every step of your life.

ron    [04/29 10:27]
It\'s not just a matter of rhetoric to call Obama a socialist based on policies of his and those of supporters of him who are, themselves, socialists. It was an established, pubilshed fact.

ron    [04/29 10:25]
Back in his salad days, Obama was a registered socialist in Illinois, which allowed candidates to run on more than one party ticket.
