But, alas, I do not know everything. I can't figure out how some people can purposefully ignore science, accept where it conflicts with a religious faith. That's the only way I can explain AGW.


Denny Ron, yes, cooling oceans do retain more CO2 than warm Oceans. A warm can of soda will release it's CO2 faster than a cold can.


Denny Patrick, that depends on how the graph is smoothed! I don't see what you do. To me it has gone down in the short term. Besides, like all things that happen on this planet, it goes is cycles. Abnorm is the norm not the other way around....

ron I wonder if the oceans cooling will cause the ocean to retain more CO2? That stuff happens to be handy in the photosynthesis process of phytoplankton.

ron Pat G., you didn't actually post any facts or science that shows that AGW is causing more hurricanes and I halfway expected to see some "opinion" that AGW could cause less hurricanes, too. It's deus ex machina. And you've only brought supposition to what I might or might not say, as well, which is entertaining but is hard science, is it?


Patrick G. Denny - you're obviously more objective. When you posted your article link you simply stated that this year was lower than usual without drawing any direct conclusions.

I also observed in the chart that 10 of the past 15 years have been well above average and the activity seems to be trending upward.

Denny LOL Ron, good one! Thanks for your kind words..I've been without a job since Feb. of last year until May 5. Got a maint. Job, one I've been looking for and it lasted 6 weeks. Went to work last Wed. and found out I was terminated after 30min working for disagreeing with my Bosses Boss on two ocassions...the only problem this time I do not have financial backing like when I left last year. Time will tell.

By the way, I live in Texas and my car gets 33 mpg. My wife's car gets about 35 mpg. I drive it because I don't feel like paying so much for gas it's less expensive to buy this car than it was to fix up my old truck. And it has nothing to do with being green. It has to do with my capitalist bent of keeping as much of my own money as I can.

It takes warm, moist air rising up to fire up a hurricane and it's just not happening with ocean surface temps below what they were, as well as temps lower in depth than that being cool, as well. Plus the trade winds are not providing the right shear to develope hurricanes.


ron Hey, Denny, sorry about your job. I've been there, done that. It could happen to me again. Today was a lousy day, production wise. The stadium light pole was supposed to be finished today. Wrong info sent me on a wild goose chase. It was a tough, dangerous height to climb. 90 feet on the pegs without the proper safety equipment. And my apprentice couldn't handle it. He got about halfway up the pole and lost his nerve and had to get back down before his arms got tired. So, it was just me up there and the boss was not happy.


ron Anon, you haven't answered anything and the Medieval Warm Period was more than just a blip. Calling it a blip does not disprove that it was way warmer with way more CO2 than now.

You've yet to study science, all you've had is political sound-bytes and your Gore hockey-stick graph is completely discredited by anyone that can literally add 2 + 2. Some of it's not your fault in that your education has been woefully neglected but you have the opprtunity to educate yourself and I would suggest that you do so, for your own benefit, whether we agree on things or not.

Just thought I would point out that the link you posted at 19:09:23 is of the Mann Hockeystick graph which has been totally discredited. This is the famous graph that Al Gore used in "An Inconvenient Truth". However, he does not use it anymore because it was shown that the model used to create it was so flawed that any data set could be plugged in and it would produce the same "hockey stick" effect.


Denny Oh, this exchange also shows that Alarmists ONLY use their Emotions to dictate what they believe. Especially in this issue to what I've been saying all along.

Denny Ron, thanks for stepping in..This past week hasn't been good for I lost my job. My patience right now is a little thin.

I'll bet this teenager has Parents that are Greenies. Heaven forbid that they really study BOTH Sides...The problem is they only stick to there side of the story and do not investigate the Realists side... Now I'm not saying all Alarmist are that way. I'm sure some have their senses.

Anonymous Canada has cars get 32 mpg. China, the biggest contributor of pollution, gets 36 mpg. The EU has 44 mpg, and plans on having 51 mpg cars by 2012. Even California plans on having cars with 35 mpg. The whole U.S., however, only has 24 mpg. Do you realize how much pollution could be cut down if we raised the mpg? The amount of money that would be saved on gas? I don't know if you've noticed, but gas is climbing skyward again. It is ridiculous that a single state not only plans on having higher mpg in the future, but is beating the U.S. right now! And what about Hybrids? What do you think of them, Ron?
